Rantings: School work

Jan07

Hi guys! I'm really feel apologetic for not catching up with you guys:( As you all know, school have started and it has passed a week of lessons. Wait, did I just mention "LESSONS"?

There's loads of things and lectures shifting here and there for this semester, however, I believe everything would go smooth with a calm heart. Yeah, I tend to get anxious when the deadline is getting closer by the day and everything I do WITH AN ANXIOUS HEART will always goes wrong. Just as I've started school, schoolwork and projects starts to come in like flowing water literally. Everything seemed that there're no rests or breaks in between, even one seemed really tired and wants to rest, one have to pretend that one is still energetic and go on.

I just wish that I would continue to work tirelessly and hope my fatigue would eventually become something which I don't believe its existence.

On the other hand, I'll try to come up with my taking-long-time reviews that you guys are waiting for whenever there's free time for me to do up the pictures. I sincerely hope that you guys would be patient for the reviews.

Well, I really should end my rant here and get back to schoolwork. Thanks a lot for lending me your listening ears for this post! Shall end this post with this:

" Time stands still

Beauty I know she is

I will be brave

I will not let anything

Take away

What's standing in front of me

Every breath,

Every hour has come to this."

Well, this is a song by Christina Perri- A thousand Years.
It just have a sense of motivation for me to move on.
Signing off,
Krystal

Review: The Face Shop Hand Cream in Blueberry

Dec28
Hi guys! This would be my 2nd review post, still trying to figure out how to use Blogger to post pictures in a productive way. Felt kind of dumb when I can't even think if a way to do such a simple task, but it's really a big feat for me as I've never been successful in submitting a 'picture-post' all alligned properly. Back to topic. This is perhaps...the first The Face Shop item which I'be bought few weeks back at Causeway Point outlet. I was always in either The Face Shop or The Body Shop during my break, deciding on which hand cream should I go for. (Even the SA referred me as "Hey! She came again!")What i noticed about the hand creams of The Face Shop is that, these, lil' blueberry ones are always running out fast within a day or two and restocking would take more than 2 weeks. In short, I can conclude that this one, is the hot-selling The Face Shop hand creams other than their lil' grapefruit, red apple, green apple, zetsy lemon(which smells like Mama Lemon Soap) and shea butter+almond oil. i fell in love the first time I chanced upon this after several visits to the outlet. I like the aroma and the texture of the cream. Once you screw open the cap, your nose would have already picking up the Blueberry Yoghurt+Vitagen in Grape aroma from the tiny bottle. Yeah, it is THAT fragrant. (Trust me!)
The texture is quite soft and bit thinner than the typical The Body Shop's. A not-too-greasy, soft creame and a thin layer- this is what I'm looking for! I'm sure you don't want to have your hands coated with a thick layer of Shea Butter, otherwise known as Strawberry coated with thick layer of milk chocolate.

This is how the actual looks like; the cream is bit of a lighter purple. I admit that this is kind of pricey for a 30ml hand cream to be at SGD $9.90. It probablt lasts me for a month or two and I'm still on my first bottle! All you have to do is to whip a tip-finger-ful of the cream and apply a very thin layer on your hands and nails. Not as wateryas my Nivea Soft Creame, although this looks like one. A tip-finger-ful of this cream will keep your hands moisturised for up to 4 hours, in air-con rooms, and up to 6 hours, in non-air-con rooms; the Blueberry yoghurt aroma lingers around your fingers!
I'm going to keep this lil' blueberry bottle to store my other creams. I guess most people buy this product for one reason- the packaging is nice! The price of the cream might not be even reaching SGD$9.90-sometimes, I think that these items are heavily overpriced! Nevertheless, the hand cream is fantastic- never in Singapore or Hong Kong you'll be able to find similar products with the same quality though. I'll give a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
PS: I bring this out when I was at work, when I was tired, take a whiff and it'll perk me up and gives me the urge to buy yoghurt for lunch!
Perhaps, tell me more about the hand creams you are using?
Cheers,

Krystal

Review: Pure Beauty Jasmine Water BB Cream

Dec28

Hey there! Check out my first ever post in this blog: Pure Beauty Jasmine Water BB Cream.

I've caught the BB cream craze not long ago, after my friends went ranting away about their BB Cream. I have to say that this is definitely doing a wonder to ladies in their late teens as it is something like a '3-in-1' kind of make up you would usually find in Watsons. It can be used as a makeup base, tinted moisturiser, and even foundation! This is something that provided a light coverage, like a thin piece of Double A's A4 plain paper floating in the air. In this review, I'll be posting real-life(and unedited) photos which I've taken before and after I applied this product as well as my thoughts and recommendations at the end of this review.

Allow me do an introduction to this first. Pure Beauty is a makeup and skincare brand that was brought in by Watsons in Singapore. Their products are made with one of a kind natural ingredients, and using technology, the ingredients are distilled down to the purest forms. This was hot selling since then, especially Watsons is having promotions and discounts. This BB Cream is in the typical size of 30ml, shaped in a rectangular tube. I guess this is the 'norm' packaging for BB Creams as I came across the whole row of BB Cream in that size when I peered through The Face Shop. The product is very different from the rest of the market- it contains Jasmine Water, that gives the cream a fresh, sweet aroma when it was applied. This fascinates me, wondering what in the world is this Jasmine Water and how does it do wonders. Thus, I've decided to give a try.

As stated on the packaging, it claims to provide intensive moisture to the skin with the help of fragrant Jasmine Water , also an excellent cover cream to make your skin look more radiant and healthy, with a natural glow. Moreover, it is a Triple function blemish balm creams that helps to correct skin tone and repair wrinkles, with added UV protection of SPF 30. PA+++. Let's see it this is true...

This is a closeup of hand(the side similar to the skin on the face) naked. I believe a picture tells a thousand words though.

My skin look rather radiant and smooth. The product indeed gives a natural glow to my skin. The Jasmine Water in the cream keeps my skin hydrated and supple, especially on my dry cheeks. It also has an SPF 30.PA+++, this is sufficient for a shopping trip on a sunny and humid Singapore.

This is comparable to skin 79's BB cream(the one which is hot pink, having good oil serbum control). In my opinion, this would definitely be my alternative to my skin 79 bottle which I'm having right now. But sadly, mine is running out soon! I like the smell of Jasmine Water, it is far better than some having an unpleasant aroma coming from a rectangular tube for the same price. It is retailing at Watsons for $21.90 and it is running out fast. The packaging wise...If is placed upright, the liquid will just flow out in excess at the second you're going to unscrew the cap.

A small lil' tip for storing BB Creams: Keep it in a cool, dry place and out from direct sunlight. Do tilt the tube the other way round or leave it horizontal from preventing the liquid to flow out in excess when unscrewing the cap.

Another con is that this is the only shade they have for this series, which is similar to my skin tone. Other than that, I would strongly recommend this product, especially in Singapore where foundation oxidises fast and a lighter colour used will result in a darker shade when oxidises. The darker shade would usually be the colour of most people in Singapore. I'll give a 4 out of 5 stars for this.

Hope my review on Pure Beauty Jasmine Water BB Cream helps you all. Stay tuned for the first giveaway soon!!
Update: Pictures are in after many tries. Thanks a lot!

xoxo,
Krystal
